check it out!" The CD can be found under local artists at Plan 9, under Alison

Chalottesville, VA 22911
In honor of the closing of their 20th anniversary year, class rep
Mira Velimirovic
has submitted the following information on more than two-thirds of
her class members. Great job, Mira!!
Hawkins Dale
and his wife Susan live in
Los Angeles with their fabulous daughter Fiona, while Hawkins rides the bucking
bronco of information technology as a computer poobah.
Chuck Epstein
and his
wife Melia Bunsussen live with their genius son Jeremy in Dallas, where Melia
supports them as a theatrical director in a manner to which Chuck hopes to
become comfortably accustomed.
Drayton Fair
lives in Rhode Island and is about
to host the biggest Commitment Service of the Season with his sweetheart, Ron.
Drayton also works in Boston as an architect, reviving style and taste in
edifices throughout New England, where they can sorely use some.
Bill Harbaugh
writes that he is, "in the process of getting a divorce." He is "pretty happy
about the whole business, swears to do right by his kids no matter what, and
they seem OK so far, but he thinks he'll get Annie a puppy anyway. He's
starting his third year teaching economics at the University of Oregon, and the
ponytail he cut off for the job market has mostly grown back except for on top.
His students say he's a good teacher, but they're really young and [their
opinions] don't...count for tenure. He still likes to climb up mountains and
then ski down them, though it's not as intellectually satisfying as it used to
be. Any alumni passing through Eugene with a cold six-pack should stop by and
they'll be welcome to the spare bedroom."
Elizabeth Hormel
lives an ongoing
insane life with her three sons Tristan, Nile, and Graham, while working as a
chef and caterer at the incredibly cool Louie's Restaurant in Bethesda.
Mary Reed Johnson,
who says she's always been lazy and it's only gotten worse, lives,
paints, and sails, in Berkeley with her husband Peter and their beautiful
daughter Fae. She's started a successful business painting animal portraits;
she's also a trained Emergency Medical Technician, so you know who to call if
you're in trouble in the Bay Area.
Jan Niederschuh,
having tried a number of
careers, is happiest in the blue-collar world right now. He works in a tobacco
factory, reads the Bible and William Burroughs, listens to the Velvet
Underground (still), Frank Sinatra (recently) and Brazilian music. He also has
a teaching certificate (the influence of LeBlanc) and may yet end up teaching,
too.
Carl Schwab
refuses to budge; he lives in Charlottesville with his wife
Tammy and their four amazingly blond children, Emily, Maggie, Jay and Abby.
Carl works, when he has to, with his sister, Cathy, in the family real estate
business.
Deb Sours
lives in a turn-of-the-century schoolhouse which she's
remodelling, does landscape design, and works at a Montessori school; she also
travels regularly to the Bahamas.
Mary Stewart-Silver
just got her BA at UVa
and may continue with graduate work. She is deeply interested in education,
home-schooling, and living outside the consumer mainstream, interests which just
might stem from Luke, Maya, Ezra, Alia, and Isaac, the five incredible kids she
has with her husband, Josh.
Cathy Summers
lives in Fairfax, where she also
rides the waves of information technology. Besides being a computer jock, she's
also a player in the world of competitive volleyball.
Susan Wallner
lives in
Pennsylvania with her husband Mark and their son Owen, who knows the difference
between classic Winnie the Pooh and Disney Pooh. Susan also works as a
documentary filmmaker and is the series producer for a weekly arts program on
Mid-Atlantic public television.
Mira Velimirovic
lives in L.A., weighing its
similarities to Sodom and Gomorrah. When she's done with that - it doesn't take
long - she hangs out with her longtime sweetheart, Max, her musical daughter
Milena, and makes annoying long distance phone calls to fellow 77s.

Robert Jones
is living in Raleigh. He has a three year-old daughter and a
newborn infant, Charlotte Healy Jones, born July 23, 1997. He works full time
for the National Guard and was just sent to Croatia for 9 months as part of the
Bosnia peacekeeping mission.

Elizabeth Causey Burgess
has two daughters and is currently in business for
herself.
Jennifer Chisholm-Hoibraten,
who married a Norwegian nuclear physicist
in the mid-80s, has immigrated to Norway where she is busy with numerous horses,
other animals, and her two daughters, Charlotte, age 6 and Sarah, age 3.
Jennifer and her husband, Steinar, spent a year here in Charlottesville when
Steinar was post-doc at UVa in 1991 and 1992. Her old friend and teacher, Inger
Kretsinger, has seen and visited her on numerous occasions, most recently in
July, and can report that her Norwegian is impeccable. Jennifer's only
disappointment is that her married name contains two vowels not found in the
English alphabet. Steinar visited Charlottesville Sept. 19-21 while on a highly
secret nuclear mission, at least according to Inger.

is reportedly performing in an off-Broadway show at
this time. [He also volunteers for a highly laudable theater group of children.]

reports that his business - manufacturing sawmills - is doing really
well. He and wife Ninon '81 were present at Reunion '97, though Fred did not
participate in the mean game of soccer which took place on the lower field.

has been appointed as a Consultant at Browning
Associates, Inc of New Jersey. Elizabeth graduated from Yale in 1986 and

management, marketing, and trusteeship.
Michael Dolan

tree" in St. Thomas.

name listed as a contributing researcher in a June 8
Washington Post article entitled, "R[epublican] N[ational] C[ommittee] Cutoff of
Group's Bank Loan Payment Left Hong Kong Guarantor With Debt." Nathan is
currently receiving his mail in NYC although he still lives in D.C. An apparent
dispute with his mail carrier is to blame.

Susan Wright
works in Richmond as a public defender representing juveniles. She
ran into
Jennifer Arave '85
and reports that
Dieter Klippstein
is writing and living in Seattle.
James Blevins
surfaced from the missing list while surfing
the web. "James is applying his skills in the film business where he is allowed
to work with more high-end computer equipment than you can shake a stick at."
He is living in North Hollywood, working for Cinesite. His name has been listed
in the Visual Effects credit on films such as: Flipper, Space Jam, Batman and
Robin, Air Force One, and the upcoming Titanic . He has appeared in a couple of
feature films and is directing the L.A. premier of an Irish play entitled Bold
Girls.

New York a little daunting. In June,

gave birth to a 6 pound, 4
ounce baby girl named Hannah. She is living on a small farm near Monticello and
enjoying the trials and joys (but mostly joys) of new motherhood.

Chicago. Here I am. If any other Tandem grads are in Chicago, look me up!"
