Gordon Ball
(wrote introduction to Ginsberg at Evergreen) Gordon Ball is a longtime friend of Allen Ginsberg and edited three books with Ginsberg, including Allen Verbatim: Lectures on Poetry, Politics, and Consciousness. He has made fourteen independent films and published numerous articles on the beat generation. His own memoir, 66 Frames, was published by Coffeehouse Press. He teaches English at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. "The Ginsberg revealing himself here is at one of the peaks of his career. Harper & Row had brought out his Collected Poems. . .[he]had recorded with various musicians including Dylan and The Clash. . .[and he would be] honored by a special session on the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of Howl at the Modern Language Association of America." |
