Northwood Press in Charlottesville, Virginia grew out of Papercraft Printing & Design Inc. Papercraft printed and published many books over a 25-year span, including a guidebook to Charlottesville called Monticello and Beyond.

Northwood publications to date are Ginsberg at Evergreen and Some Say Tomato (now in its second printing).

Founder Mariflo Stephens is a fiction and humor writer who reads her work on public radio. Her columns are often seen in the Washington Post Style section, And she is a contributor to Simon & Shuster's The Barbie Chronicles.

Current President Virginia Daugherty was the president of Papercraft Printing and Design, Inc. and mayor of the city of Charlottesville.
