Porter 50 Ton Virginia Central loco.
A narrow guaged Potomac, Fredericksburg, and Piedmont railroad operated for a while. After a disasterous move to standard guage, it was abandoned. In the early 60's, the 1 mile stub line left in Fredericksburg was re-organized into the Virginia Central. It ran until sometime in 1982.
The book "RF&P: Linking North and South" has photos of it in operation. (Authors Bob Kaplan & Deane Mellander)
